There must be something Marvel’s contract that says that all furry heroes must be brilliant scientists. Introduced in X-Men #120 (1979) by Chris Claremont and John Bryne, Sasquatch and the rest of Alpha Flight actually started off as enemies to the X-men. He was one of the first member to be recruited and trained by the Flight program (more on that when I do Alpha Flight team edition) and became the team resident scientist. He has had some of the strangest adventures, including being turned into a woman or being made the vassal of the Beast god Tanaraq. When he was believed killed, he was placed in the Box armor.

Sasquatch has been a member of Alpha Flight most of his career, but he has been a member of Omega Flight andโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆโ€ฆ.Alpha Flight Space Program run by Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers).

Sasquatch in action figure form seems to have a curse. That being that whenever they release a figure of Man-Thing, then a few waves later, a re-sculpted version of Sasquatch will not be far behind. Toybiz did it twice (one in their 5inch line and one in their ML line). Hasbro did a whole new sculpt, however, when they released their version of Sasquatch.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Deadpool โ€“ Sasquatch Wave Sasquatch (Build-A-Figure)

  • Background:
    • Walter gained the big furry form after he opened a hole into the dimension of the Great Beasts, where heโ€™s body was link to Tanaraq. While he has been separated from the beast, he still is able to become the big furry Sasquatch.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • While the Toybiz one is a great figure, itโ€™s suffers from rubbery joint and is bit thinner then you would expect from Sassy. It is nice if you donโ€™t want to get the BAF figure from the Deadpool wave. However, the BAF is bigger, bulkier and has better sculpt IMO.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
