He’s a big guy like his dad. Introduced in Venom: Lethal Protector #4 by David Michelinie and Ron Lim, the symbiote (that would eventually be given the name Riot when he was released as an action figure) was one of five symbiotes extracted from the Venom symbiote by the Life Foundation group. It was bonded with Trevor Cole, a security guard for the Foundation. He would battle Spider-man and Venom before being believed killed in an explosion. They survived, however, and went to Brock in hopes of controlling their symbiotes. He refused and escaped the five. When Agony’s host was found dead, the group blamed Brock and went to hunt him down in revenge. However, it was discovered that it was Scream that kill Agony and she would later go onto kill the other four hosts included Cole. The symbiotes were taken to the vault and would merge to form Hybrid with their host Scott Washington.
At some point, they were separated again and given to the Mercury Team with Riot bonding with Petty Officer Howard Ogden. This team was sent to prevent Carnage from taking over the town of Doverton Colorado alongside the Avengers, Spider-man, Agent Venom, and their niece Scorn. The symbiotes were eventually abandoned only to be discovered by and bonded with Deadpool, who was hunting down Carnage. After the battle, Deadpool left the four to bond with a dog. After Knull’s awakening, the four were enthralled by the Dark God. They happened upon a family with Riot bonding with the father. They were sent to attack Dylan Brock and Normie Osborn but were stopped by their new brother, Sleeper, and the Avengers. When Knull arrived on Earth, they were sent to capture Dylan again but were stopped by the new Scream, Andi Benton. They escaped and Riot bonded with a passer-by. He remained hidden until Carnage used his influence to cause him to go berserk with his new host, Riot, who joined his brother and siblings in their attempt to take over a politician but were stopped by Agent Anti-Venom.
All five characters weren’t the most well-known characters until Hasbro started making figures of them, but Riot did get a major popularity boost due to his role in the first Venom movie. He would receive a figure as part of an Amazon exclusive box set with Agony and Riot.

- Background:
- Out of the five Life Foundation symbiote, Riot was one that could never keep a proper color, mostly due to the printers at the time. Sometimes he is grey, others brown. Marvel finally decided on more recent artwork just to make him blue.
- Why do you need it for your collection?
- If you want to complete the Life Foundation symbiotes you will need this. It will also be needed for a Venom’s family collections. Finally, you may want him for a Spider-man or Venom’s rogue gallery.
