Unlike many fire based characters, he can’t create fire, just control it. Introduced in X-Men #141 (1981) by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, this Australian mutant was recruited by Mystique in her attempt to assassinate Senator Kelly as part of her part team of the Brotherhood of mutants. They would be sent to prison until they escaped and fought the Avengers. He would also be part of the Brotherhood when they changed their name to Freedom Force and began working for the government. When the government disbanded the team, Blob and himself were abandon in Iraq. They were rescued by Toad who recruited them into his Brotherhood.
He eventually learnt that he had contracted the Legacy Virus. He tried to make amends with life but would often went back to crime. He eventually learnt that Mystique was attempting to assassinate Senator Kelly again at a presidential rally. He went to the rally and help the X-men to defeat the Brotherhood but he used his powers to saw Kelly, causing the virus to kill him. He pleaded with Kelly to end the hatred, dying Kelly’s arms. However, he would eventually return to life in Krakoa, when the X-men began resurrecting dead mutants. He later learnt he was the first experiment of this and this did not sit well with him. He escaped Krakoa and joined up with Kate Pryde’s Marauders.
Pyro is a classic character but is more of a side character that’s part of a team then anything. He did get a boast in popularity when his character appeared in the 90’s cartoon. He has gotten a few figures though. His first ML figure was part of Toybiz’s Onslaught series. He would receive a new figure many year later as part of the X-men Movies 20th Anniversary line as a 2-pack with Rogue.
Brotherhood / Maruaders

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Movie 20th Anniversary 2-pack – Pyro with Rogue
- Background:
- This is Pyro as he originally appeared as part of Mystique’s first Brotherhood team. Like many classic design, it has been drawn and colored different by different artists. It would later be redone as part of his resurrection in the Marauders team.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This one is easily one of the character you need for a good amount of teams. Obviously needed for the Brotherhood alongside the Freedom Force and recently the Marauders. It is also needed for a standard X-rogue gallery, which you should put next to Blob and (the X-men Classics) Avalanche.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
Needs
Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
