This is why you don’t reveal your address to strangers. Introduced in Sensational Spider-Man #16 (1997) by Todd DeZago and Mike Wieringo, Rick Lawson was an orderly that was working when a heavily injured Hobie Brown was brought into the emergency room. Learning of Hobie’s home address, he broke into his apartment and stole the Prowler’s costume and gadgets. He used it to commit a number of burglaries. Hobie learnt that someone was using his tech to commit crimes and contacted Spider-man for his help. Spider-man managed to track him down, but they would be attacked by Vulture, who wanted revenge against the real Prowler. After a three-way fight, the two villains escaped.

Spider-man would continue to search for the Prowler imposter and found him attacking a construction worker, who had had him fired from his previous job. The imposter escaped again, and Spider-man went to give Hobie the update. Hobie has used his time in hospital to gather information on who was working the night he was brought in. Spider-man use this info to track down Lawson, who was fighting Vulture once more. Prowler tried to escape but Spider-man webbed him up while he fought Vulture. Vulture would attack Lawson and injured him before Spider-man defeated them both. Lawson was brought to the hospital where he returned the suit and was later sent to jail.

Not many people know of this character, but for Prowler (Hobie), it’s one of his most important story arcs, though he wasn’t in it much as it’s showing his trust and friendship in Spider-man. It would be referenced many times after. Since Lawson wore the standard Prowler suit, you can use that figure for this.
