Alot of the time she is in the comics, her mother had after died. Introduced in X-Men #141(1981) by Chris Claremont, John Byrne and John Romita Jr., Rachel comces from the Days of Future Past universe where mutants and humans have been enslaved by Sentinels. She is the daughter of the Phoenix (in the guise of Jean Grey) and Cyclops, who had died when she was young. At a young age, she would be capture by Ahab and made into one of his Hound, hunting down other mutants. She would eventually be sent to a camp where she would help the mutants send Kate Pryde back in time to prevent the assassination of Senator Kelly, hoping that this would prevent their future. She would later be sent back in time to the present day taking the name Phoenix.
After a brief battle with Selene, she would join the X-men. She would remain on the team for many months before being captured by Mojo. After spending month as the captive of Mojo, she would escape to London where she would be a founding member of Excalibur. After many adventures with the team, she would go back to her own timeline to learn that the heroes had changed the Sentinels program so they would protect life rather then control it. She would return to the present time with the aid of her half brother, Cable, but they choose to keep her presence unknown to the other X-men. She was eventually capture by Elias Bogan but was rescued by the X-treme X-men. She returned to the mansion with the team and changed for surname to Grey after learning that Cyclops was in a relationship with Emma Frost. She also took her mother’s old codename Marvel Girl.
She would join the government approve X-men team, XSE but would suffer tragedy when the Shi’Ar Death Squad massacred the entire Grey family. When the truth behind the second team of X-men with her uncel Vulcan was exposed, she join the Professor in trying and stopping Vulcan destroy the Shi’Ar. She joined the Starjammers with her other uncle Havok after the death of her grandfather Corsair. She would eventually return to Earthand re-joined the X-men eventually taking a teaching position in Wolverine’s school. After the war with the Inhumans, she joined Kitty Pryde team of X-men and took the new codename Prestige as suggested by Kitty. She would join the rest of the mutants on Krakoa and became a member of both the X-men and X-factor.
Rachel had been a character that people have been asking for for a while, mostly in her Excalibur costume. While she didn’t have this costume, she would receive a figure as part of the third Hasbro Marvel Legends wave, the Brood Queen wave, with a black skinned variant.
X.S.E. Marvel Girl

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Brood Queen- Marvel Girl
- Background:
- After the X-treme X-men returned to the X-mansion, Storm positioned the government to create a special police force to allow mutants to investigate mutant crimes. Rachel would join this squad. However, she had learnt that Cyclops had started a relationship with Emma Frost not long after Jean Grey’s death. Angry at her father, she changed her surname to Grey and took her mother’s name of Marvel Girl.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you want a Rachel figure for your X-men, XSE or Summer’s family collection then you should get this. However I would recommend waiting for Hasbro to remake Rachel in some other form as this is a bad figure.
- Does it need a remake?:
- Yes. Hell they can even use the recent HOX Jean Grey with a new head.
