One of the few good things that came out of Ex Nihilo’s origin bombs. Introduced in Avengers (Vol. 5) #4 (though not fully until Avengers (Vol. 5) #15) by Jonathan Hickman and Stefano Caselli, Aikku Jokinen is a Finnish-Norwegian woman that just happened to be near one of Ex Nihilo’s origin bomb, in this case the POD armor, which bonded it her and encased her in cocoon and found by AIM. She emerged from the cocoon and had her mind taken over by the armor. She flew to Australia, where the Avengers were fighting another one of Ex-Nihilo’s creations. She easily defeated the team but was captured by AIM and placed in a sub-space.

When Sunspot took over AIM, he rescued her. She would eventually join his New Avengers team and would become romantically involved with Toni Ho, who was studying the armor. Toni found out that Aikku could take off the armor but doing so would reset the armor, causing the AI to reset as well. Aikku revealed she remained in the armor to protect POD. The couple were eventually attack by the Maker and Skar along with the New Revengers. POD was heavily damaged and in order to save one of them, POD ejected Aikku from the suit to save her, leaving her with the POD undersuit, a less bulky and streamline version of the armor.

She would later shutdown AGM, a genocidal AIM group, alongside Toni. They would go onto join the Avengers Idea Mechanics, which would later become the US Avengers. During no surrender, she became one of the heroes that was frozen by Grandmaster. When Red Wolf was abducted, she was freed and was one of the heroes that fought a resurrected Hulk to protect Voyager. However, Hulk destroyed her new armor. When the Greek Goddess Nyx returned and blocked out the sun, she would return with a new armor and along with Toni as members of G.I.R.L., helped Blue Marvel with his Avengers World team to deliver aid for people suffering from the crisis.
