Unlike his literal counterpart, his sadistic persona is part of both his forms. Introduced in Journey into Mystery #99 (1963) by Stan Lee and Don Heck, Dr. Zabo believe the formula used in Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde could be created and made his own to transform him into his own version of Mr. Hyde. Because Donald Blade had discredited him, he swore revenge against the doctor and turned into Hyde. This was his first encounter with Thor. At some point after this, he fathered Daisy Johnson with a prostitute. Daisy would later become the SHIELD agent Quake.

He later began a partnership with Cobra and would battle many heroes, like Thor and Daredevil. Cobra would eventually betray him and Hyde tried to kill him. He would eventually join the Masters and was one of the people who took over the Avengers mansion and was the one who nearly beat Jarvis to death, leaving the Avenger’s butler in a coma. He would go onto battle many heroes including Spider-man, Iron Man and more. He was later learnt he was dealing the power given drug MGH when Patriot went to him for the drug. He was one of the people who joined the Hood’s gang but would eventually be arrest and forced to join the Thunderbolts. He would eventual end up in Ravencroft only to be released when the institute was invaded by Vampire.

Mr. Hyde has been a character that many people have been asking for, usually to go with the Under Siege version of the Masters. While we didn’t that version, we did get a version as a BAF in the Shang-Chi wave.

Thunderbolts

• Background:
  • Mr. Hyde was one of many people forced to join the Thunderbolts when Luke Cage was made warden of the Raft. However, he would escape with several inmates but was sent back in time to Victorian England, where he not began wearing a suit similar to his counterpart but was also revealed to be Jack the Rippr.
• Why you need it for your collection?:
  • This is one that is needed to a Thunderbolts collection. It can also be used for a Masters, Avengers, Daredevil, Spider-man, Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and many more villains shelf. If you got King Cobra, you may want this to go with him.
• Does it need a remake?:
  • No. (Though I wouldn’t mind a new head and torso for the classic look)
