Time for a vampire that is a fussy eater. Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #30 (2001) by J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita Jr., Morlun and his family are a type of Vampire that feeds on totemic (animal) energy from various animal themed beings, with Spider totem energy being their favorite. They took over the Loomworld, where all of realities begin, and forced Master Weaver to allow them to travel across universes. At some point, Ezekiel Sims, a man who had the same powers of Spider-man, encountered Morlun but managed to escape him. Ezekiel approached Spider-man and told him of the Vampire. Morlun would eventually track down Spider-man and would begin a nearly full day of hunting and attacking the Wall-Crawler, leaving Spider-man severely wounded. Spider-man learnt of the vampire’s weakness to radiation and gave him an extra dose of radiation to defeat and kill Morlun.

Morlun would later return when Parker found out he was dying. He would attack Spider-man and severely beated him, even eating his eye and leaving him for death. Spider-man was broken to the morgue where the Avengers were visiting with Mary-Jane. Morlun arrived and was about to feed on Spider-man when MJ entered the room. Morlun was about to attack MJ when Spider-man sprung to life and having gained the powers of the Other, gained stingers, which he used to killed Morlun. Morlun would later be resurrected by the Crocodile Cult, in an effort to take over Wakanda but Morlun was defeated by Shuri’s Black Panther.

Morlun developed a fear of Earth-616 but continued to jump universe to hunt down other Spider-man, particularly those of alternate Peter Parkers. After Cindy Moon, aka Silk, was released from her hidden Bunker, Morlun and his family, the Inheritors, began a great hunt for all Spider-theme totems heroes and villain across the Multi-verse. This led to the Spider-verse event, where Spiders from across the Multi-verse gather together into an army against the vampire family led by 616 Peter Parker. During this war, they learnt that the reason Morlun and his family kept returning was because upon their death, they would upload their minds into a new clone body. The war would end when the Spider-army trapped the Inheritors in a radiated world.

They would eventually escape when Doc Ock, in a cloned body of Parker, recreated their cloning tech, allowing them to inhabit new bodies. Instead of aiding his siblings, Morlun went to settle his score with 616 Spider-man. This led to an all-out battle between the two. Spider-man barely manage to win with the aid of the NYPD using sedatives against the Vampire. Spider-man had planned to turn Morlun into a baby like his siblings, but a group of scientists took the body and experiment on him. Morlun escaped and began living in the sewers eating spiders. After Sin-Eater infected his followers with the Spider-virus, Morlun hunted down these beings and attacked Sin-Eater. Sin-Eater eventually gained the upper hand and absorbed Morlun powers. Sin-Eater would later kill himself and Morlun would return to normal.

Morlun has being a character that people have been asking for a while, mostly due to his role in the Spider-verse/geddon. He would receive a figure as part of the Spider-man: No way Home wave.

  • Background:
    • Morlun appearance is typical of what people think of a Vampire. As such he wears a variety of aristocratic suits. The colors may change from time to time, but they are usually the same design.
  •  Why you need it for your collection?:
    • This is a character you may want for your Spider-man’s rogue gallery, either as a standalone villain or as part of the Spider-verse storyline. You could also get it for Black Panther, but he was only seen in one storyline.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
