He is the most ruthless Herald that Galactus had. Introduced in Silver Surfer (Vol. 3) #69 (1992) by Ron Marz, Ron Lim and Kevin West, after dismissing Frankie Rayes’ Nova from being his Herald, Galactus went to feed upon Morg’s planet. Morg, a court executioner, showed no fear in front of Galactus and would try and defy the World Devourer. Impressed by his ruthlessness, Galactus choose him as his latest herald. After learning about Nova’s dismissal and about how Morg had no compassion for any of the planet he served Galactus, Surfer and Firelord went to Galactus about their concern. Galactus dismissed them and Morg easily defeated them.
Surfer and Firelord sought the aid of Nova, Terrax and a resurrected Air Walker. Meanwhile, Morg had discovered the Well of Life, which gave him even more powers. The former Herald attacked Morg, with Air-Walker severly injured and Nova being killed by Morg. Galactus was not happy about Nova’s death and striped Morg of the Power Cosmic. This allowed Terrax to kill him. He was later resurrected by Galactus and given a second chance. Seeking out his ax, he tracked down Terrax for revenge but they were ambushed by Tyrant. They were captured alongside Surfer, Beta Ray Bill, Gladiator, Jack Of Heart and Ganymede. They tried to escape but were easily defeated by Tyrant and his minions. All but Morg were allowed to leave once Galactus arrived.
Tyrant would siphon off Morg’s Power Cosmic until Morg was able to escape and returned to his master. During a battle with Tyrant and Galactus, Morg used the Ultimate Nullifier to kill both masters. He tried escape but was caught up in the blast. He was presumed dead until it was revealed that he was captured by the Annihilation wave and used as a battery to drain the Power Cosmic. He was confirmed as dead by Annihilus when the Negativa Zone tyrant failed to obtain the Power Cosmic from his corpse.
To say that Morg is a fan wanted character would be a small lie. Most people are only aware of him as the herald that made Surfer gather the former Heralds to defeat him. However, Jesse Falcon, Marvel’s head of Merchandising, insisted that for the Haslab Project that Morg would be made as one of the Tiers.
