So her power is to die and come back alive? Yep, she’s an X-men character all right. Introduced in X-Men #96 (1975) by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum, Moira began life in an alternate universe, where she would lead an uneventful life until she died of old age. She soon discovered that her mutant powers allowed her to be reincarnate in an alternate timeline. This would happen a few more times. Sometimes she would help set up Xavier’s school and even marry Xavier but later she would become radicalized and tried to work Magneto and other villains to try to prevent mutants from becoming victimized. She would end up in many of the known alternate universe such as House of M and Age of Apocalypse. After her ninth life she decided to do things differently.
In the main timeline, she met Xavier in college and allowed him to read her mind. She was previously dating Joseph MacTaggart but she would fall in love with Xavier and were to be married. MacTaggart convinced Xavier that he should enroll in the army. While he was away, MacTaggart got back together with Moira and they would eventually marry, breaking up with Xavier. MacTaggart would abuse and beat her, eventually sexually assaulting her and leaving her pregnant. They would separate and she would study genetics, setting up the Mutant Research Center on Muir Island. She would eventually reunite with Xavier and helped him set up his school for mutants. Her child, Kevin, would gain mutant powers but because of the danger of his powers, she had not choice but to keep him imprisoned while trying to find a cure. She would later adopt Rahne Sinclair, the girl who would later become Wolfsbane.
She would later find another school to train a second group of young mutants but this team would be killed when Xavier sent them to rescue the original team from Krakoa and Xavier would erase the memories of people involved. She would eventually met the X-men when she went to the mansion to become the housekeeper, hiding her true identity. There she met and fell in love with Banshee. She soon revealed her profession and had the team visit her research center. Her son, now calling himself Proteus, escaped the lab and tried to track down his father. The X-men tried to stop him and Moira was even willing to kill him. He took over his father’s body and was killed by Colossus.
Moira would eventually help Xavier set up the New Mutants by allowing Rahne to join the team. While being aided by Multiple Man, she would befriend Gabriel Haller, Xavier’s former lover, who revealed that she had Xavier’s son, David Haller, aka Legion. She would try and help him but Legion’s multiple personality lead him to leave. She would allow the X-men to stay at her research facility after the Mutant Massacre. She would later contract the Legacy Virus, making everyone believe that she was the first human to contract. She began researching a cure, which she found but was eventually by Mystique. (Note: the cure was eventually released into the atmosphere but Colossus had to sacrifice his life for it).
However, it turned out that she has faked her death by swapping her body with a Shi’Ar golem. She secretly began working with Xavier to research resurrection and moved to Krakoa. She also began working to try and stop the Sentinels and Nimrod. She was later revealed to the X-men and became part of the Quiet Council. She is currently working to bring about peace for mutant kind on Krakoa.
While many X-men fans know and love Moira, not many people were clamoring for a Moira figure. However, that may have changed thanks to the House of X / Power of X storyline. Since she was a main character in that storyline, Hasbro decided that they had to make a figure for their HOX wave of X-men Legends.

- Background:
- After decades of being dead, Moira was revealed to be alive. Not only that it was revealed that she was actually a mutant with the powers to be reincarnated into a separate universe. She would wear this one in one of her universes, though it was color green in the actual comics and pink on the cover.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you are collecting X-men, then you might want to get this as not only she is (now) a X-men member, she was one of the longest and most famous supporting characters out there, appearing in cartoon, games and movies. If you only collect superheroes, then skip.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
