From crushing on Peter, to a woman that will do anything to protect her children….. no matter the consequences. Introduced in Amazing Fantasy #15 (1962) by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, Liz Allen was a classmate of Peter Parker, initially joining in on her boyfriend’s, Flash Thompson, bullying of Peter. However, after Peter gains his powers and began standing up to Flash, Liz began seeing him for who he was and developed a crush on him. However, it never went beyond that as Peter was dating Betty Brant at the time and he thought it was just a high school crush. While she would admit her feelings at their high school graduated, she decided it wouldn’t work out between them. She would later meet Harry Osborn at Betty and Ned Leed’s wedding. The pair would be married and Liz would give birth to his child, Normie Osborn. However, Harry would follow in his father’s footsteps and became the Green Goblin, dying saving Spider-man from an explosion he caused.

She would become the head of Oscorp but was eventually removed when Norman returned from the dead. He would briefly date Foggy Nelson but eventually broke up with him after Mysterio tricked him into having an affair. When Peter unmasked himself publicly during Civil Wars, Liz blamed him for all the losses she experienced in life and worked with her step-brother Molten Man and the Exterminators to try and kill him. When Spider-man defeated them, he allowed her to leave before the police to arrive. After BND, Harry was reborn (as a clone from hell) and divorced from Liz instead. She inherit her father’s company and built it into a major industry, eventually merging it with Horizon labs and Oscorp to become Alchemax. During Goblin War, it was revealed that Liz was working with her ex-father-in-law Norman, who had used plastic surgery to change his face and taken on the identity of Mason Banks. She would help he flee the city when Spider-man returned.

She would later discover that one of her employee was really Spider-man 2099, but Miguel made up a lie that he was sent back in time to prevent some future from happening to her, so she let him continue working for him. She would later began aiding Venom, when he came with a dinosaur man to her building and she help him discover it was Stegron behind it. After Secret Empire, Harry and Liz tried to have another go at it, hiring a Nanny, Emma. However, Norman had merged with teh Carnage symbiote and became the Red Goblin, forcing Normie to bond with it too. He tried to force Liz to hand back over the company to him but she refused and was tossed out of the building. Normie would snap out of Norman’s influence and save his mother with Spider-man, bonded with Venom, defeated Norman. When Venom gave birth to Sleeper, Liz tried to force Eddie to hand it over to Alchemax, only for Eddie to refuse. After a battle with Venom’s original host, they cut ties with Liz and Alchemax.

However, with no place to go and with the encouragement of Spider-man, she allowed Brock, his son Dylan and Sleeper (as a cat) to stay in her home. But she was blackmailed by the Life Foundation and Meridus and forced to experiment on the symbiotes. She would have Dylan kidnapped and experimented on. Dylan would escape but she would develop a new symbiote which was the combination of Carnage and the Anti-Venom. After Harry’s death, she was attacked by the Guardsman Corwin Jones. He would set off a bomb but she would save the new symbiote and bonded with it, taking the name Misery. They were later capture by Jones and with the aid of Misery, overcame and accepted her trauma and broke out with the aid of Queen Cat, the mother of Harry’s other son Stanley. The two would clash over Stanley but eventually worked together to escaped. This experience would change her outlook and she began working to improve people’s life. She would later become involved with the Venom War and aided in stopping Meridus.
