I wonder if he knows he was right Lorna’s heritage? Introduced in X-Men #49 by Arnold Drake and Don Heck, the young Vincent would suffer abuse from his father until his power emerge, turning his skin green. He used his power to send his father away, possible making him kill himself. After working for a circus, he was approached by an android version of Magneto for a job of using his powers to make Lorna Dane believe that Magneto was her father. (This was long before this was retconned into being true.) He would be stopped by the X-men and would later learn that the Magneto he was following was a machine controlled by Machinesmith. He would become a recurring foe for the X-men.

After being trapped in the Amazon by the real Magneto, he would find his way to Broadway as an actor. He would encounter Spider-man and tried to get the web-head to perform with him, which Spider-man agreed. However, after a reviewer give him a bad review, Mesmero used his powers to try and make the critic kill himself, causing Spidey to rescue the critic and take down Mesmero. He was sent to prison but escaped and made his way to Canada, where he encountered Alpha Flight and a fight broke out with him using civilians, Sentinels sent to capture him and the Canadian premier team. Persuasion used her powers to stop his control of the Civilians and he was captured. He would escape again and tried to get revenge against the X-men by using a friend of Beast to lure the fury hero to his doom…. it didn’t work.

Next time he was spot was in England but this time he was trying to make an honest living as a hypnotist/psychiatrist. He would become the doctor to many high profile individuals including the Prime Minister but someone found out about it and tried to blackmail him. Not one to let others use him, he went to Excalibur and used his powers to control him to take down the Fenris Twins but a timing intervention from Kitty Pryde and Lockheed cause his control over them to drop. He was captured again but somehow wound up in Seattle where he received a test from the Dark Riders on whether he could join their team or not. This involved a conflict with the member Gauntlet that lasted months.

Eventually he made his way back to Canada, where he encountered Alpha Flight again and made them fight each other for his own amusement and then left. He would eventually be approached by the Director of Weapon X, who boasted his powers for him and made him join his team. But when his lost control of his powers after seeing his mother die, he was sent to Neverland with the rest of the captured mutants. He lost his powers in M-Day, which he was happy about and started a relationship with a sex worker. He somehow got his powers back and formed his own Brotherhood of Mutants, which attacked the United Nations. However, not only was he just controlling the rest, this attack was staged by an anti-mutant politician that had paid him. He would later be defeated by the X-men and the politician role in the attack was revealed. Like most of mutant kind, he traveled to Krakoa but his villainous ways surfaced and he tried to frame Polaris for murder before he was handed over to human authorities.
