- Origin: Mutant
- Universe: Marvel Prime Universe (Earth-616)
An analogy I always liked for Magneto is that he is the Malcolm X to Professor X’s Martin Luther King. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in X-men #1 (1963), Magneto has been the X-men’s greatest enemy and their most powerful ally. Born during WWII, the young Jewish boy survived the Jewish encampments of the Nazi and the Holocaust. Because of the terror he saw in the camps and feeling that mutant could share the same fate as the Jewish people, he sees mutants as the next evolution of mankind and believe humans will do to them what Nazi did to the Jewish people.
But that doesn’t mean he is pure evil. He has helped the X-men on a number of occasions, even joining and leading the team for quite a while. After M-Day, he has remained with the team to help save what few mutant there is left.
As for figure, Magneto really only gets his classic version (which they still haven’t gotten right). That’s just what people think when they think of Magneto. Hasbro has since release on of his more Modern versions.#
Have
Classic

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends 80th Anniversary “Family Matters” Box set Magneto With Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch
- Background:
- This is the costume that Magneto is almost always known for. It is also the first costume he wore in the comics.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
Being that both the Toybiz versions and the Jubilee version are now extremely hard to find I would recommend waiting until Hasbro redoes this soon.Hasbro has given us a new updated version that is exclusive in a box set with his “children”. Honestly this is the best Magneto yet and if you are a fan of any X-team or other heroes then this is a must.
- Does it need a remake?:
- Yes. Both companies can’t seem to get this right.
All-New, All-Different Uncanny X-men

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Apocalypse wave Magneto
- Background:
- After the Secret Wars and it was discovered that the Terrigen Cloud was causing the mutant to contract the deadly M-pox, a sinister enterprise known as Someday Enterprise offered to cryogenic freeze mutant until a cure could be found. Magneto knew something was up and gather other mutants to make his own X-men team. He also changed his costume into this.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- While most people would want his classic version, I think this is a nice version if you wanted a more modern version. As a matter of fact if you have the X-Force Archangel and Fantomex, you actually have 3 members of this team. Hasbro has done Psylocke and Sabretooth in the same wave (not in the correct costume though) maybe Monet is nexted?
- Does it need a remake?:
- No
House Of X

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men House of X Tri-Sentinel (Theta Sentinel) Wave – Magneto
- Background:
- Tired of the constant mutant hatred, Xavier invited Magneto in creating a mutant only nation of Krakoa. Magneto started wearing a new version of his White costume from a few years back. Note: This is not the same costume as the Marvel Now version.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- If you enjoyed the story, then you will need this. You can also use it for the Renegade team but that is slightly different.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No.
