In the Ultimate Universe, it is a brain tumour that gave Tony is purpose. Introduced in Ultimate Marvel Team Up #4 (2001) by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Allred, Tony went about trying to find a cure but upon meeting a young cancer patient, he decided to use his time left to help people. He was captured by terrorists and was forced to created weapons for them, but instead created his first suit. He would escape and would become Iron Man. After a few missions, he was recruited into the Ultimates (Ultimate universe’s version of the Avengers) and would aid the team in battling the Chitauri.

He would become lovers with Black Widow and was going to proposed but she revealed that she was a traitor. When the Liberators destroyed the old base, Stark took the Ultimates into his home. He would remain with the team and would help train the new Spider-man (Morales). He would later work with other heroes to try and prevent Incursions but his universe was destroyed. He would see a resurrection by the Maker and would return to his own universe.

While not the most popular version of Iron Man, his suit (particularly his original suit) have been a fan favourite. He would receive a figure as part of Hasbro’s first ever wave.

Background:
- After escaping from the Terrorists, Tony began creating a new suit to help people. This is the Ultimate Universe version of what is essentially the Classic version of the character.
Why you need it for your collection?:
- You will need this to build your Iron man Armory, having him for the Ultimates team or for the Ultimate universe display. If you have no interest in that, you might want to skip it.
Does it need a remake?:
- Yes as this was a version bad version, being too skinny and short.
