He was one of many backup clones that Tony had made. Introduced in I Am Iron Man #5 (2023) by Murewa Ayodele and Dotun Akande, in an effort to ensure there will always be an Iron man, Tony devised a system that if he is receives a lethal injury his consciousness would be uploaded to a cloned body. However, if he survives or there is a glitch, it may cause a clone or a surplus of clones. Thus, a Tony Stark has to hunt down the rest of the clones. One such clone, believing himself to be the real Tony, went to the Cube Prison to recruit the technopath criminal, Deola. While he was talking, he noticed the anomoly when the warden mentioned he had already talked to him about reforming the prison, something he never did.

While in the prison, he was attacked by a SHIELD strike team led by another clone of him. He uploaded a virus to the other Iron man’s armor and killed him, downloading his memories in his own. Three months later, he and Deola were in a SHIELD orbital satellite when they were attacked by Gargantus, who knocked him back to Earth. Using her powers, Deola upgraded Iron Man’s suit and he used it to beat Gargantus. However, it would explode but not before Iron Man confirmed he wasn’t the Tony that wanted to reform the cube to Deola and that there was a true Tony that would reform the prison.

This version of Iron Man was kind of released when they released the Controller wave Iron Man.
