Not quite the jokester he is in the Prime Universe. Introduced in X-Men: Alpha #1 (1995) by Scott Lobdell, Mark Waid, Roger Cruz and Steve Epting, Bobby was one of the first recruits of Magneto’s X-men. Unlike his Prof X’s training, Magneto pushed Bobby hard to get him to get him to drop the humorous attitude and unlock his true potential. Iceman would remain with the X-men true out most of the AOA storyline, battling Apocalypse and his various minions. When Colossus went into a rage, Iceman tried to stop him but was shatter into pieces. He of course would recover.

When Weapon X became Apocalypse, Iceman joined with the X-men again but a fall cause him to shatter. He would become cold-hearted and brutal after. When the 616 Uncanny X-force arrive in this universe, Bobby was one of the few remaining X-men. He would aid the team to get a Life Seed to use to save 616’s Archangel. However, he would later betray both teams by allying with Dark Beast. Iceman would remain on the 616 universe until he was hunted down by AOA Nightcrawler and killed when Nightcrawler threw him into a furnace.

Out of all the AOA character, Iceman is one of the most surprising addition to the Marvel Legends. (Yes I did include it in my Ideal wave but that was just me picking a random figure.) However, he is included in the second AOA wave.

Age of Apocalypse

  • Background:
    • AOA Iceman is pretty much a spikier / edgier version of his Prime counterpart, both in appearance and attitude. The main difference is that he has no mouth or nose in Ice-form
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If you are building an AOA shelf, you will need this as he was one of the main members of the X-men during the AOA run. If you missed any of the previous version, it can be used as a 616 version or as part of an Iceman collection. Other then that, it can be skipped.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
