I wonder what happens when she gets sunburn. Introduced in Rom Annual #3 by Bill Mantlo and William Johnson, Paige is the younger sister of New Mutant/ X-Force / X-men member, Cannonball. Growing up admiring her brother, she tried to see if she had any mutant powers as well. After many attempts is soon found out her powers of shedding her skin. However she kept it secret until she was kidnapped by the Fenris Twins, when they were hunting young mutant as part of the Gamemaster’s contest. She escaped and confronted Gamemaster, beating him in a game of wits.

She was later kidnapped by the Phalanx, along with other young mutants. After being rescued by the X-men, they were sent to the Massachusetts school and formed the original Generation X team. While on the team she began an on-off relationship with Chamber. When the school was closed down after the death of Synch, she joined Banshee’s X-corps team. When that team was shutdown, she went to the Xavier Institute to study. After investigating Angel’s company, she found it was involved in environmental issue. With the help of Archangel, they thwarted the Dominant Species. During the battle, she was nearly killed by Archangel used his new healing blood to revive her and they became a couple.

She would become a full member of the X-men as well as helping with the outreach program Mutantes Sans Frontières with Archangel. She retained her power following M-Day, clashing with ONE Sentinels when they tried to take her stuff. Following her brother’s, Jay aka Icarus, funeral she returned to Kentucky for a while before joining many mutants in San Francisco. She aided the team in the investigation of Muir Island during the Necrosha event, being processed by Proteus. During the Second Coming, she, along with other members, was seen fighting Nimrods. When Jubilee was turned into a vampire, she went in search of her old teammate, tricking a vampire into attacking her, taking a wooden spiked form to slay them.

She would side with Wolverine, during the Schism, and joined him at the new Jean Grey school. It was during this time that Paige began acting strangely, shading her skin more and more and becoming more aggressive to everyone. She would start a relationship with Toad. She would quit the school and joined the Hellfire Academy with Toad, seemingly taking joy in screaming and tormenting the students as well as belittling Toad. When the X-men attacked the academy, Paige attacked Toad and Kid Omega, who were trying to escape. Toad began ripping off her skin until her true personality returned but she had lost her memories of her relationship with Toad. She would rejoin the X-men.

She would later be recruited by SHIELD to watch over Tabula Rasa, even after the organization was dismantled. She helped Deadpool and Spider-man fight against Fakepool (Chameleon) from stealing SHIELD weapons. She joined the rest of mutant-kind on Krakoa and was part of the team sent to fight Mother Mold. She was killed and later revived by the Five. She was later reunited with the rest of the Gen X for Jubilee’s birthday. She would learn of Chamber and Jubilee’s relationship, giving them her blessing and believing they are perfect for each other. She would later join Nightcrawler’s Legionnaires.

Along with the rest of the Generation X member, Paige was asked for awhile. She would receive a figure as part of the X-men Nemesis (Genocide) wave.
