He is the reason that Angel originally lost his wings. Introduced in Uncanny X-Men #210 (July, 1986) by Chris Claremont and John Romita, Jr., not much is known about the life of Kodiak Noatak before he was recruited by Gambit and Mr. Sinister to join the Marauders. With the rest of the Marauders, he ventured into the Morlock tunnels to kill their society. While the other hunted down the Morlocks, Harpoon used his powers to pinned Angel’s wings to the wall, which would eventually lead to the X-man having his wings removed and later turned into Archangel. Harpoon also cause Shadowcat to be stuff in phasing form and Colossus to be stuck in his metal form.

He was later killed during the Inferno arc but was later revived as a clone by Mr. Sinister. He was depowered during M-Day but remained in the Marauders using his harpoon instead. He later was part of the Marauders that attack the X-men under order from Karma’s half sister. He was killed by Arclight but of course would return and tried to slaughter the Marauders again. Chamber, the Marauder’s leader, went to the X-men for help and during the fight Harpoon killed Chamber, only to be executed by Hope. He would return under orders from the Goblin Queen, in her invasion of Krakoa. He was killed when the team betray her but was later revived on Krakoa.
