He tried to kill every god, from every pantheon, from all the universe. Introduced in Thor: God of Thunder #2 (2012) by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribić, Gorr was born on a desert planet where he and his family were starving to survive. He was thought to believe in the gods, and they will provide but one by one his family were killed. When his son died, he expressed his disbelief in the gods and was exiled from his tribe. Wondering the desert to die, he witnessed a battle with two gods, the Enigma Force (Captain universe) powered god and Knull. Knull plunged the All-Black into his foe and left. The golden god begged Gorr for aid, which angered Gorr who took the All-Black sword and killed the god. The All-Black bonded with Gorr and this empowered Gorr to seek out other gods and rid the universe of them.
At some point in the 9th century, Thor, on a Viking adventure, hear of how there were dead gods. Travelling to a cave, he encountered Gorr. Gorr nearly killed Thor, but Thor managed to push Gorr back and he escaped. Gorr went about killing many gods and eventually gained control of the Pool of Time, which he used to travel through time, murdering more god. He eventually arrived at the End of Time, where he enslaved all the gods except for King Thor. The slave began created the God Bomb which would kill all the gods in the universe. 616 Thor was sent into this future and encountered King Thor. Gorr also sent his minions and brought the young Thor to his time to be a slave. Eventually the three Thors worked together and not only stop the God-Bomb but also killed Gorr. Gorr was eventually resurrected by King Loki, who was using the All-Black sword, to kill King Thor. Eventually, he was killed by King Thor and his grand-daughter and and was separated from the All-Black to return to being a mortal where he would live the rest of his life in peace.
As part of one of the most celebrated Thor storylines, people have been requesting a Gorr figure for a while, especially since we had the 3 Thors from that story. With him being the main villain of Love and Thunder, Hasbro would release a figure as a timed Amazon Exclusive.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Amazon Exclusive Marvel Legends Thor: God of Thunder – Gorr the God Butcher
- Background:
- Before he bonded with All-Black, Gorr was a malnourished alien with a boney body. After getting the All-Black, he gained muscles, and the sword gave him his robed look as well as giving him black marking on his body.
- Why do you need it for your collection?
- A more recent villain in Thor’s rogue gallery but a very important one. This is obviously needed for Thor’s villains display, especially if you got the King Thor BAF, the Thor from the same wave and the Young Odinson from the Gladiator Hulk wave. If you don’t collect Thor figures, then you can skip this one.
- Does it need a remake?
- No.
