Since the Shi’Ar Imperial Guard are meant to be the counterpart to DC’s Legion of Superheroes, Fang would be Timberwolf counterpart. Introduced X-Men #107 (1977) by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum, Fang is a member of the Lupak, who continue their legacy through a series of cloning, with one of them serving the Shi’Ar empire as part of the Imperial Guard. They take the name Fang as the hereditary title. This Fang served as a member of the Guard under Deathbird’s leadership when they tried to invade the Kree Empire but were stopped by Captain Mar-Vell, who teamed up with Guard to stop the Brood. When D’Ken tried to obtain the power of the M’Krann, he was sent with the Guard to battle the X-men. During the fight he was knocked out and his costume stolen by Wolverine. When Lilandra ascended to the throne, he would ally with Deathbird, who tried to use the Brood against Earth. He was expelled from the guard and despite his loyalty to Deathbird, he was given to the Brood by her, who made him a Brood but was killed by Wolverine.

He was replaced by 2 more Fangs but would later return when he found out that Wolverine was dead and sought the aid of the Wolverines, a team of either former allies or villains who he was convinced killed Wolverine. X-23 convinced him they didn’t kill Wolverine and he would reveal to the group that every year, he and Wolverine meet up and fight a dangerous opponent. When Laura became Wolverine, he would aid her in stopping a Brood invasion on a facilty on the Moon of Rhittle. He would remain a close friend to Wolverine and his children since.

As a member of the Imerial Guard, Fang is probably one of the most famous, probably because Wolverine and many of his children would wear his costume at some point. He would receive a figure as part of the X-men Ch’Od wave.

Classic

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Ch’Od wave – Fang

  • Background:
    • This is Fang as he and his successors generally appears as. Pretty much every member of Wolverine’s family would also wore it.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • If you have gotten some of the member of the Imperial Guard, particularly Gladiator, you will need this figure. He is one of the most frequent member of the team. It will also be needed for a X-men shelf either as an ally or villain as well as a Wolverine shelf for the same reason. He can also be used for a general Cosmic shelf.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • No.
