What if Peter becoming Spider-man wasn’t an accident? What if it was part of destiny? That was the question this character introduced. Introduced in Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #30 (2001) by J. Michael Straczynski and John Romita, Jr., Ezekiel Sims under went a ritual that gave him similar powers to Peter Parker, becoming one of the Spider-totems of the multiverse. He used these powers to amass a massive business empire. He would later learn of the totem natural enemies, Morlun and the Inheritors, so began working to protect himself and other totems.
When Peter and Cindy Moon were bitten by the spider, he contacted Cindy and arranged for her to be hidden in a bunker to protect her from Morlun. He would also keep a close eye on Peter, and finally approached him when he realised that Morlun was targeting him. He tried to get Peter to hide in a bunker as well, but Peter instead went to fight Morlun, only to be beaten severly. He return to Ezekiel but Morlun tracked him down. Together with Ezekiel, the pair fought Morlun. In the ensuing battle, Ezekiel fell into a river and didn’t resurface. After Peter defeated Morlun, he returned to Ezekiel’s offices to find it empty and a foot print on the outside of the skyscraper.
Ezekiel would later return (now sporting a beard) when Shantra, the Totem of the Spider-wasp, appeared and began pushing Peter to the edge. Ezekiel took him to a temple in Ghana, hoping to lure Shantra to the temple and feed her to the Spider-creature there. The pair was later attacked by the Gatekeeper, a colony of Spiders. It was revealed by the Gatekeeper that Ezekiel was never meant to get the Spider-powers and had stolen them. Since the Gatekeeper would only allow one of them to be the Spider-totem, Ezekiel and Peter fought but Ezekiel drugged Peter to sacrifice him to the Gatekeeper. But Peter used his Spider-sense to show all the heroics he had done over the years, which cause Ezekiel to change his mind and fight the Gatekeeper. Ezekiel sarcificed his life to save his friend Peter.
Possible Figures

- Which has the best chance of being made? – During his short tenure in comics, Ezekiel would usually be seen wearing either casual business suits or casual clothes, like a t-shirt or jeans.
- How can it be made? – While I don’t see this character being made (beyond the Last Stand version from the Spider-verse), if they were to make him, then a slightly retooled Happy Hogan body would work for him with bare feet. IF he does get made, then it might be part of a Spider-man wave, either a retro wave or a BAF wave.
