Magneto’s agenda can even influence people much, much older than him. Introduced in X-Factor #92 (1993) by Scott Lobdell and Joe Quesada, Paris was a man born in the 12th Century and was part of the Knights Templar during the crusades. Together with Eobar Garrington, the Black Knight of this time, they set about searching for the Temple of Power. Dane Whitman had somehow traveled back in time and took over his ancestor’s body. When they encountered Sersi, who had also travelled back in time, the two split with Dane remaining with Sersi and an angered Paris leaving to find the Tower himself. He travelled the desert and encountered a vision, which he believed was a sign from God but was really the Phoenix Force. He was eventually captured by Apocalypse and his clan. Apocalypse turned Paris into Exodus and sent him to kill the Black Knight. He turned against Apocalypse and was imprisoned in a tomb for centuries.
He awoke when Magneto found and free him. Exodus began to worship Magneto as his new Massiah and became his righthand man when Fabian Cortez betrayed him. He began trying to recruit other mutants to their cause and bringing them back to Avalon, whether they wanted to or not. That is what brought him into conflict with X-Factor and X-Force. When Magneto’s mind was wiped by Xavier, he took over leadership of the Acolytes and communicated with Magneto’s in his vegetative state, believing Magneto was actually talking to him. When Cortez kidnapped Luna, Quicksilver’s and Crystal’s daughter as well as Magneto’s granddaughter, and took her to Genosha, Exodus arrive with the mission of killing all the humans and freeing the mutates. This brought him into conflict with the Avengers and the X-men. He overwhelmed both team and free Luna but was eventually defeated by Black Knight.
He would clash with Quicksilver again when the speedster was part of the Knights of Wundagore, when he believes that the High Evolutionary’s experiments were a crime against nature. During this he would clash with the Inhumans and the Heroes for Hire. He was later entombed but later returned and took the guise of Magneto. He seemed to have changed his way trying to bring human and mutants together in Genohsa. He was later unmasked which caused Genosha to fall into civil war again. This caused him to return to his old ways and forming his one Brotherhood of Mutants, but they were defeated by the X-men.
After M-Day, he became infuriated of the loss of the majority mutant-kind. After attacking a SHIELD helicarrier and clashing with the X-men, he and his Acolytes joined Mr. Sinister’s Marauder to search for more mutants. He would clash with the X-men when Hope Summers was born. He would later help heal Xavier after he was shot by Bishop. After the Schism of the X-men, he arrived at Wolverine’s school to force them back to Utopia but Rogue and Wolverine showed him why they left. He then attack the Extinction team but they eventually captured him. During the M-Pox crisis, he took over Someday Enterprises, offering to freeze mutants until a cure was found. However this was a ruse to use these Sleepers against an anti-mutant rally. This brought him into a clash with Magneto’s X-men.
He would later join the rest of mutantkind in Krakoa, where he was made a member of the Quiet Council. He would clash continually with Sinister. When Mystique revived her wife Destiny, Exodus supported her nominee to the council. When Magneto left, he invited Hope to take his place. He would be one of the mutants sent to the White-Hot Room during Orchis attack on Krakoa. He became the exiled mutants’ leader. He would later clash with the X-men when the White Hot Room mutants wanted to move Krakoa to the White Hot Room instead of Earth. He would find peace with the X-men and help them defeat Apocalypse.
Possible Figures
- Which has the best chance of being made? – Out of the costumes above the one that has the best chance of being made is the Original design, followed by the Vs. Quicksilver version. The Quiet might be done but I doubt the Maruaders or Brotherhood will be.
- How can it be made? – First of all this can only really be part of a X-men wave, either as a regular figure in a baf with or part of a Retro wave. As for how he can be made, I think the new Cap figure with some added parts would make a good base.
