He was once a simp for Enchantress until he stood up for himself. Introduced in Journey Into Mystery #103 (1964) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Skurge was one Skornheim’s greatest warriors, earning the name Executioner during a war with the Storm Giants. He came to Asgard where he became infatuated Amora the Enchantress, who used his love for her for her schemes. He first came into conflict with Thor when Amora seduced Donald Blake and Skurge kidnapped Jane Foster. They were defeated by Thor. They would later team up with Loki to attack Thor. They would later team up with Baron Zemo’s Masters of Evil, becoming integral to the team but Skurge was mostly there as muscle.
He would continue to work for Amora until they were banished to a barren nether world. There, he fell in love with Casiolena and abandoned Amora. He would return to Earth, fighting the Defenders and reunited with Amora, who was using Black Knight as a pawn and had turned to stone. She abandoned Skurge to the Avengers. After he helped Loki take over Asgard and failed, he had enough of Amora and teamed up with Thor and his allies to rescue lost souls for Hel. After they rescued the soul, they were pursued by an army of the dead. Skurged knocked out Thor and volunteered to stay behind to allow his allies to escape, with a pair of M16. After his death he was allowed into the halls of Valhalla.
But…. this is comic books, so he would return. His spirit was used to give Brute Benhurst his powers. He was freed by Thor, and he would lead the rest of the Einherjar to aid Asgards and the New Mutants. He would later be seen trying to stop Angela from taking over Hel but failed. However, she only wanted to revive her lover and handed over the crown to Balder, with Skurge becoming his knight. He later helped stop Sindr’s invasion of Hel and was later brought by to the mortal realm when Kid Loki, disguised as Amora, tricked him to join his Asgardians of the Galaxy team. He was later killed again when he aided Angela in preventing the invasion of Angels on Africa, during the War of the Realms. He was sent to Valhalla again but was killed by Odin so he would return to the mortal realm (because comics). He has since been seen with Amora and the Minotaur scheming something.
