She is probably one of the few characters in all of comic to admit to having a cosmetic surgery. Introduced in X-Men #129 (1980) by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, Emma Frost came from a rich family but left it all behind to make it out on her own. Using her powers, intelligence and sex appeal, she eventually grew her own business. She was eventually invited to join the Hellfire Club as a stripper and eventually the Inner Circle as the White Queen. She would be one of the members that helped turn Jean Grey into the Black Queen and later Dark Phoenix. However, even at a young age, Emma wanted to be a teacher and so she set up a school for mutants to rival Xavier’s school. The young mutants she gather eventually formed the Hellions, a team that rivaled Xavier’s New Mutants.

Despite battling the X-men and New Mutants many times, Emma truly cared for her students. So when she fell into a coma after being attacked by Fitzroy, she willed her Academy to Xavier as a second school to protect her students. She would later awaken and returned to her academy with Banshee to form a new young mutant team called Generation X. After an attack from her sister Adrienne saw the academy destroyed and many students killed, Emma left the school and went to teach in the mutant nation of Genosha. She was present when Cassandra Nova’s Sentinel destroyed the island but was found by the X-men who took her back to the mansion. While she refused at first, Emma eventually joined the team.

While on the team, she began a psychic relationship with Cyclops and took the Stepford Cuckoos under her wing. Following the death of Jean Grey at the hands of Xorn, she began a proper relationship with Cyclops and became the headmistress of the school. She would eventually learn that the Cuckoos were actually her clones, along with hundreds of clones. They would begin to refer to her as there mother. She would remain with the team for many adventures and even followed Cyclops to San Francisco. During Dark Reign, she would pretend to join Norman Osborn’s side as a member of the Dark Avengers, before betraying the team and having the members join the X-men, where she help set up the artificial island of Utopia. She was the person who convinced Namor to join the team.

During AVX, she was one of the five X-men to become a host for the Phoenix. After Cyclops defeat, she was arrested but freed by Cyclops, who set up his own renegade team of X-men. After Secret Wars, she would have a breakdown when she saw Cyclops dying when exposed to the Terrigen Mist. She would use her powers to trick the X-men into thinking that he was killed by Black Bolt after they confronted the Inhumans. She convinced the X-men to attack the Inhuman and destroy the Terrigen Cloud but when the X-men learnt the truth and the Inhumans destroyed the cloud themselves, insuring no new Inhumans could be born, it made them realize what they had done, they turned on Emma. She was saved by Havok. To protect mutants from the Hydra lead America during Secret Empire, she helped set up New Tian and began working with villains to try and create new mutants with Mothervine. However, she learnt that these most would be brainwashed into being servants to Miss Sinister and tried to stop it. She was later made a member of Krakoa’s Quiet Council.

While Emma Frost is an extremely popular character nowadays, it wasn’t until she became a member of the Astonishing X-men that she finally gained her figure Marvel Legends figure. Her first ever figure was part of the Annihilus wave, Hasbro first ever wave. She wouldn’t see another figure until the Puck wave. However, because of the Fox and Disney rivalry, this was part of a Dimaond Exclusive wave that saw very little releases. As part of the Walgreen exclusive program’s X-men theme, she saw another release in her renegade X-men costume. What was supposed to be their SDCC 2020 exclusive, she saw another release as part of the Hellfire Club box set. She would receive an update to the Astonishing X-men as part of the X-men’s Ch’Od wave.
