She inherit Spider-man sleathly persona, that he inherited from someone else, who inherited from some else…. You get the idea. Introduced in Slingers #0 (1998) by Joseph Harris and Adam Pollina, Cassie St. Commons was a college with a facial tattoos and piercings who was offered a chance of becoming a hero by the WWII hero Black Marvel. Marvel had obtained the four suit that Spider-man wore to hide his identity during the Identity Crisis that were enchanted by Mephisto. She was teamed up with 3 other heroes as the Slingers, but during a training session, she made a leap she thought she could make because she believed had powers. She unfortunately fell to her death.
But of course that wasn’t the end of her career, as some how the enchantment from her suit caused her to merge with it and gave her powers. However, she wasn’t quite alive and wasn’t quite dead. None the less, she tracked down her teammates and returned to the team. She would continue to work with them, developing a crush on Ricochet and having Hornet falling in love with her. After it was found out how they got their powers, she fought against her greatest fears to defeat Mephisto and save Black Marvel’s soul.
The team soon broke up after that with Dusk only having cameo appearances until the team reunited when a demon took the form of Black Marvel and he had Cyber take on the role of Hornet. They worked together to try and take in Scarlet Spider (Reilly) until she revealed the demon’s true form. While Scarlet Spider and Kaine killed the demon, the Slingers tried to capture Cyber but failed. They then decided to stay together. She later had a vision that Ricochet was in trouble and tracked him down to the Beyond Corporation. There, she spotted the new Hornet, Hobbie Brown, who wanted to infiltrate the business as well. Working together, they found that Ricochet was working for them to stop some monsters. They reformed the Slingers under Hornet’s leadership and began working for the Beyond Corporation. He was later captured along with other Darkforce users to blanket the Earth’s sky in darkness to allow the Vampire kingdom to try and take over the world. After their defeat, she was freed.
Possible Figures
- Which has the best chance of being made? – She has had only one costume, or skin in her case.
- How can it be made? – Of the four this one is the easiest to do. Just the standard female body, with Banshee’s cloth wing and a new head. Hell they can even use the magic effect painted black. This will obviously be part of a Spider-man wave.
