Yeah. Maybe trusting the daughter of two of Iron Man’s greatest enemies was not a clever idea. Introduced in Invincible Iron Man (Vol. 2) #25 (2010), Doug Johnson III (possible descendant of Jap Buster Johnson) was a former soldier recruited by Hammer Industries in order to pilot the Detroit Steel armor, Hammer’s answer to Iron Man. This was advertised to the US army as the new Patriotic hero. He was sent to fight against Grey Gargoyle in Paris, who has been powered up the Serpent as his Worthy, Mokk, and was petrified. He was revived when Odin restored the city to normal following the Serpent’s defeat. However, this event caused him to be labeled as KIA, losing his passport and US citizenship.

He managed to regain his passport and returned to the US. There he began stalking Sasha Hammer. He confronted her and demanded that she take him to the Detroit Steel armor. Justine Hammer, Sasha’s mother, agreed to Johnson’s demands with the intent of blowing it up remotely but Johnson had hacked the armor to prevent this. Sasha, along with others, donned an upgrade Detroit Steel armors and killed Johnson.

While he was a short-lived character, Detroit Steel has been requested by fans for a while. He would get a figure as a Hasbro Pulsecon exclusive.
