She definitely saw that death coming. Introduced X-Men #141 (1980) by Chris Claremont and John Byrne, Irene Alder was born blind in the 19th century but her precognation power activated during her teenage years. To help keep track of her vision, she transcribed her vision into a number of diaries. Years later, she would met Raven Darkholme, Mystique, who would help her make sense of her visions. The two became close and eventually became lovers. However, they would go their separate ways a few times, each gaining other lovers and eventually a family. However, the couple would continue to reunited and eventually took in a young mutant which they named Rogue as their adopted daugher.

The couple would eventually form another team of the Brotherhood of Mutants in their attempt to assassinate the mutant hating politician Senator Kelly. They failed and Destiny was arrested and sent to Ryker Island, where she was eventually freed by the Brotherhood. However, after the Brotherhood became the Freedom Force, Destiny was killed by Legion. However, she would continue to influence the living as she had manipulated events, like allowing Rogue to find her diaries and making the X-treme X-men search for them. She was forced to be resurrected by Selene, who forced her to be her personal seer but was eventually rescued by Rogue and her granddaughter Blindfold. She would eventually be resurrected for sure when Mystique forced the Five of Krakoa to resurrect her. She would join the Quiet Council and eventually revealed that truth behind Moira MacTaggart.
