She has been a mainstay of most of Russia’s version of the Avengers. Introduced in Champions #7 (1976) by Tony Isabella and George Tuska, Laynia was sent to capture the Black Widow and bring her back to Russia. However, she instead defected to the west and would join the Champions (of LA). She would soon leave the team and returned to Russia where she joined the Soviet Super-Soldiers with her brother Vanguard. However, the team would try and tried to defect before they were captured and returned to the Soviets. She was rescued by Siberforce but following the fall of the Soviet Union and with the People’s Protectorate was rename the Winter Guard, she was recruited into the team.

She would later join the X-Corps but was killed by Fantomex when she was taken over by Weapon XII. She was later resurrected by Eli Bard but returned to the grave shortly after. After a number of ladies took over her role, she was resurrected by the Dire Wraith and would re-join the Winter Guard. After a mission to capture the Intelligencia and the break up of the Guard, she was later seen recruiting the original Crimson Dynamo to lead a new team of the Guard as a counterpart to the Avengers.

Out of all the Russian heroes, Darkstar has been the one that many people have been asking for, usually as a part of Black Widow wave. She would finally receive a figure as part of the Iron Man Ursa Major wave, alongside her most frequent team mate.

Neo-Classic

Recommend Figure:  Hasbro Marvel Legends Iron Man Ursa Major wave Wave –  Darkstar

  • Background:
    • Darkstar usually is depicted wearing one of 2 version of the costume. The more classic figure (shown below) has a yellow stripe down the side of her costume while a more modern version generally had no stripes.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If you are building the Winter Guard, which we have a good number of members of, or any of the other Russian teams, you will need Darkstar. She has been in pretty much every Russia hero team to date. It is also need if you want to complete the Champions of LA, being the only one outside the original 5 that they recruited. Black Widow and Avengers fans may need her as well.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not fact. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
