Went from a love struck teenager to a fierce commander. Introduced in Fantastic Four #45 (1965) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Crystal is the younger sister of Medusa. When Medusa went missing and war broke out in Attilan, the Royal family were forced to flee. They traveled across the world in search of Medusa, who had lost her memories and was working with the Wizard as part of the Frightful Four. In New York, she would meet Johnny Storm and the two instantly fell in love. However, they were separated when Black Bolt’s brother Maximus, sealed Attilan in a dome trapping the Inhumans in the city. After Black Bolt used his voice to shatter the dome, Crystal was reunited with Johnny and took Sue’s place in the F4 while she was pregnant with Franklin.

She had to return to Attilan when the pollution affected her health but, on the way, she was kidnapped by Diablo and encountered a wounded Quicksilver. She took Pietro back to Attilan where she nursed him back to health. Soon they fell in love and were married and had a child which they named Luna. Due to his temper (made worse by Maximus), she would leave Attilan and rejoin the F4. She tried to regain a relationship with Johnny, but he was then married to Alicia Master (later revealed to be a Skrull name Lyra). Crystal would return to Attilan to aid her sister and Black Bolt with their son’s power and reconciled with Quicksilver.

She would later join the Avengers, where she was attracted to Black Knight, but it was complicated as Quicksilver was trying to rebuild their marriage and Black Knight was attracted to Sersi. She would choose Quicksilver but was one of many heroes to have “died” fighting Onslaught. She would return later and was reunited with Quicksilver before returning to Attilan and the Royal Family, where she dedicated herself to raising Luna. After Black Knight and Quicksilver fought over Crystal, she became estranged from Quicksilver again. Following the events of House of M, which saw Quicksilver lose his powers, he stole the Terrigen Crystal. When the Inhumans found him, Crystal allowed Black Bolt to beat him and announced that their marriage was annulled.

When Black Bolt was revealed to be a Skrull, the Inhuman went to the Kree to form an alliance. Ronan, the then leader of the Kree, agreed but only if Crystal becomes his wife. Medusa agreed with Ronan which upset Crystal. However, after Ronan protected her and some civilians from harm, she learnt that he genuinely had feelings for her. After the defeated of King Vulcan, the Inhumans remained rulers of the Kree. Black Bolt ordered the separation of Crystal and Ronan as part of the deal to step down as rulers of the Kree, which deeply saddened the couple. Medusa, now ruler of the Inhumans, made Crystal the ambassador of Attilan and sent her and her entourage to the UN. She eventually learnt that the Terrigen Cloud was killing mutants and aided her sister in destroying it, effectively ensuring no more Inhumans would be born.
