The former Air Force pilot is now a space pirate. Introduced in X-Men #104 (1977) by Chris Claremont and Dave Cockrum, Christopher Summers is the father of Scott, Alex and (even though he didn’t know it at the time), Gabriel, the future Cyclops, Havok and Vulcan of the X-men. While taking his wife and kids on a plane trip through Alaska, the family came under attack from a Shi’Ar ship. After trying to save Scott and Alex by pushing them out of the plane with a parachute, he was captured and imprisoned on the Shi’Ar ship. He escaped but witnessed his wife’s murder by D’Ken as well as the tyrant ripping the baby in Katherine’s stomach out. (The baby would survive and be sold as a slave before returning to Earth, becoming Vulcan.)

Chris was sent to a prison mine, where he would meet other prisoners. Working together, they escaped and stole a spaceship called the Starjammer, which they would name themselves. They would become pirates that would attack Shi’Ar ships. He would later be reunited with Scott, now Cyclops, when D’Ken tried to obtain the M’Krann Crystal, but he tried to keep this a secret from Scott. He would later tell his son himself when he crashed landed on Earth and Scott found that he still had a picture of his family. He explained he didn’t return to Earth because he thought his sons were dead and coming back without them would be too painful.

He would later help save Xavier from the Brood by placing Xavier’s mind in another cloned body. He would continue his adventure as a space pirate, secretly aiding Lilandra and her Shi’Ar empire. He later discovered his third son, Gabriel, was alive and was on a mission to massacre the Shi’Ar empire. He tried to stop his son but was brutally killed by Vulcan. He was later revealed to be alive and would help the GOTG and the time-displaced X-men stop the Trail of Jean Grey. The younger Cyclops would choose to travel with his father for a while before returning home. The Starjammers would attend the funeral of Thanos and would later aid the GOTG against the Universal Church of Truth. They would later help the New Mutants leave a Krakoa flower in the Shi’Ar and would later aid the universe against the Cancerverse invasion.

People have been asking for the Starjammers for years, especially Corsair, since he is the Summers boys’ father. He would receive a figure as part of the X-men Ch’Od wave.

Classic

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Ch’Od wave – Corsair

  • Background:
    • Corsair’s design usually given him the appearance of a pirate with a bit more Sci-Fi in the design. His bandana has been both blue and red.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • Given that Hasbro confirmed that they are making more Starjammer, you will need him for that since he is the leader. You will also need him for the Summers family member as well as X-men allies and Cosmic heroes.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. I have included what I think are the possibilities of them being made. Note that these are my personal opinions and not facts. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
