He is constantly in his metal form. Introduced in Generation Next #1 (1995) by Scott Lobdell, Mark Waid, Roger Cruz and Steve Epting, Colossus was the younger brother of Mikhail, who fought Apocalypse only to be captured and turned into one of the Horsemen. Colossus, leading Russia’s Super Soldiers, was forced to fight his brother. Mikhail killed all the team, leaving Colossus the only survivor. Colossus left the Soldiers and joined the X-men. There, he met and married Kitty Pryde, Shadowcat.

After years of fighting, Colossus lost the will to fight. Magneto offered him a chance to retire and train the next generation of mutants alongside Kitty. After a while, Magneto gave Colossus, Shadowcat and their students a mission to rescue Colossus’s sister Illyana. They saved Illyana but the students were all killed, with Colossus having no choice but to abandon his students. When Illyana was sent to the M’Krann crystal, Colossus went into a rage and rushed to save her. However, he killed his wife when she tried to stop him, trampling her to death. Insane with grief, Colossus was killed by Gambit. He was later brought back by Sugar Man for service with Weapon Omega but was later killed again.

When Shadowcat was leaked via store listings, many people assumed that Colossus would be the BAF of the second wave of AOA figures.

  • Background:
    • Colossus design again borrow heavily from his 616 universe with a pirate motif mixed in. It should be noted that Colossus is in permanent metal form as a battle cause his human form to become heavily damaged. If he turns back he could died.
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • If you are building an AOA shelf, then you will need this, especially if you are getting Shadowcat. You can also get this if you are a Colossus fan. Otherwise skip.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
