He was their greatest warrior, which they wanted to defeat an alternate version of Scarlet Witch. Introduced in Force Works #1 (1994) by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning and Tom Tenney, the being that would become known as Century was created by the Hodomurian, using the combination of their greatest warriors. They wanted him to defeat Lore, a Scarlet Witch that had conquered dimensions. He was sent to intercept her but was pulled into the timestream and somehow wounded up on Earth. Amnesiatic and lost, he realized that his arrival was a beacon for the parasitic aliens, the Scatter, and thus allied himself with Force Works. He would join the team after Wonder Man’s death.

He would remain with the team, briefly leaving to find out about his origins. When the team disbanded, he would leave in search of Lore. He would later return and joined Wonder Man’s Revengers in order to stop the Avengers, who Wonder Man blamed for recent events like the Civil War and Secret Invasion. When they were defeated, and he was interrogated on why he joined the team, he confirmed that he eadrne a debt to Wonder Man for his death.
