Yeah, he should have just stuck to baseball. Introduced in Captain America #178 (1978) by Steve Englehart and Sal Buscema, after Steve Rogers retired from being Captain America following the revelation that a high-ranking official in the US government was the leader of the Secret Empire, Bob Russo, a former baseball player, went on TV and declared that he would take up the role. In his first attempt at trying to stop a bank robbery, he misjudged his rooftop swing and careened into a brick wall, injuring his arm. He would retire soon after without seeing some proper action.
While he would not get an official figure, since he wore Cap’s costume for a brief career, any of the classic Captain America figures could be used for it.

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Fan Channel Exclusive Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary – Captain America
- Background:
- Steve Rogers had retired from being Cap following the revelation that someone in the US Government was backing the Secret Empire and had killed himself in front of Steve. A few would try to take up the mantle including Russi who don the classic costume for a single missing.
- Why do you need it for your collection?
- I would say get this figure for your Steve Rogers collection but if you want to recreate the scene of Russo crashing into the building, you can use this for that.
- Does it need a remake?
- No.
