When Havok was “killed” in the Prime universe, his soul inhabited the body of another Alex Summers. In this twisted universe, he met several familiar face yet very different faces. One of these was a vampire Ororo Monroe. Introduced in Mutant X #1 (1998) by Howard Mackie and Tom Raney, the history of this Ororo was pretty much the same up to and including when she joined the X-men. At some point, she was kidnapped by Dracula, who transformed her into a vampire to become one of his brides. She broke free of his control and helped the X-men defeat him. She left the X-men soon after. She would later be captured by some of Dracula followers and met Forge who helped her escape. On the way she met Kitty Pryde who she turned into her slave.

She would later encounter Gambit who was mortally wounded and in his dying breaths, requested Bloodstorm to help him. She did by drinking his blood and turning him into a vampire. Gambit however resented this and broke away from Bloodstorm. Turning against her urges, she joined Havok’s The Six, becoming the co-leader of the team. While as a member, Forge offered to be her blood sacrifice whenever she felt the urges. She was eventually given a cure for her bloodlust and weakness to sunlight by Beast, but it didn’t cure her Vampirism. She later killed Dracula in revenge.

She would later be recruited by Earth-X’s X-51 to just his Herald team, a team from various universes that wanted to warn universe of a Celestial threat. He promised them their fondest wish, which for Bloodstorm was of course a cure for her vampirism. Bloodstorm and Iron man 2020 went to a universe where the entire planet was vampires. They tried to warn that universe’s Reed Richards, but it came too late. Reed dropped a bomb into the Earth’s core, destroying the planet. They managed to escape and witnessed the trail of Earth-X’s Watcher. She was sent back to her own Earth. She attended the wedding of King Britain and Medusa and met her Earth-X version as well as her husband Black Panther. Earth-X’s Storm agreed to give her a blood transfusion, believing it would cure her vampirism. It is currently unknown if this cure worked.

Out of the members of the Mutant X’s Six, Bloodstorm is probably the one Marvel has used most often. She would receive a figure as part of the Strange Tales’ Black Heart wave.

Mutant X’s Bloodstorm

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Fan Channel Exclusive Marvel Legends Strange Tales – Blackheart wave – Bloodstorm

  • Background:
    • When Bloodstorm first appeared she was pretty much the punk version of Storm but as a vampire. This would be her appearance throughout much of her run.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • This is a figure that many people will skip. You could get it for the Six team but we don’t have any other character from that. You may also want to get it for X-51’s Heralds team which, surprisely enough, we have a few member’s of. This may also want to be added as a Storm collection or vampire collection.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • No.
