Maybe trying to get revenge on someone and wearing his own suit was not the best idea. Introduced in Deadly Foes of Spider-Man #1 (1991) by Danny Fingeroth and Al Milgrom, Leila Davis is the husband of the Ringer who was used by Beetle (Jenkins) to gather information on Spider-man and was later killed by the Scourge. Seeking revenge, she became the Sinister Syndicate driver and began a relationship with Boomerang and later Speed Demon to get closer to Beetle. When Jenkins and Spider-man fought, she attacked the pair but was instead sent to prison.

After getting out of prison, she formed her own group and became the villain Hardshell. She later learnt that her husband was alive as the cyborg Strikeback and the couple would retire to rekindle their marriage. However, her husband would later die due to complication with his cybernetics. She was later recruited into the Redeemers and given Jenkin’s latest Beetle armor but was later crushed to death by Graviton.

  • Background:
    • Due to her search for revenge against Beetle, Leila was recruited into the Redeemers and given one of Jenkins armors, which V-Battalion obtained when Jenkin was in prison. During their first mission against Graviton, she was crushed to death in the armor by the villain.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • If you want to build your Beetle collection, you may want to get this. It can also be gotten for a Spider-man’s villains shelf or as part of the Redeemers.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • Maybe. Might work as a BAF,
