He really shook things up. Introduced in X-Men #141 (1980) by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. Dominic Petros was a Greek mutant who saw how human treated his kind. First appearing as a member of Mystique’s Brotherhood of Mutants in their attempt to assassinate Senetor Kelly, he would become one of their longest members, following them as they changed into the Freedom Force. He became close with Pyro, and when the pyrokinetic mutant was diagnosed with the Legacy Virus, he tried his best to find a cure.

After Xavier outed himself as a mutant, he would go onto join Banshee’s X-corps, though this was because he was being controlled by Martinique Jason, Mastermind. He would join Exodus’ Brotherhood but would leave after they were sent to the Mojoverse. After M-Day, he would give up the mutant fight and open a bar in San Fransico. After helping the X-men with a Serpent powered Juggernaut, he chooses to remain in San Fransico when the X-men spilt following the Schism. He was later captured by the Red Skull and his U-Men and sent to attack New York but was made jump off a cliff by the Skull. He would be resurrected in Krakoa where he would join SWORD.

Avalanche is a character who is known for being a member of the Brotherhood than anything else. As such, people have requested him for years. Toybiz did do a figure as part the X-men Classics line but that was an original design. Hasbro would make a more classic version as part of the X-men Vintage wave 2.

Classic

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends X-men Retro wave 2 – Avalanche

  • Background:
    • This is Avalanche as he first appeared as part of the Brotherhood of Mutants. This is also his most famous costume, to which most costumes are based on. As always, different artists, different styles.
  • Why do you need it for your collection?
    • This is a character you NEED to complete the Brotherhood’s members, particularly since he is one of the longest serving members. You could also just put him in the X-men villains’ shelf as well.
  • Does it need a remake?
    • No.

Needs

Below you will find a gallery of suits that still need to be made. Please let me know if I have missed anything.
