He may be microscopic but he is mighty. Introduced in Micronauts #1 (1978) by Bill Mantlo and Michael Golden, a tie in comic for Takara/Mego line of the same name, Acroyear is the crowned prince of an ebony-skinned race that he bares the name of, living in the Microverse planet of Spartak. He was born when a comet zoomed across the planet, making people believe he was destined to become king. However, he was betrayed by his brother, the albino Shaitan, who used his mind controlled powers to control his people and brought them under the rule of Baron Karza. Acroyear was sent to the Body Pit, a colosseum where they fight for their lives, where he was eventually freed by Arcturus Rann and his Micronauts. He joined the team and became one of it’s core member.

In order to defeat Karza, Acroyear sacrifice the Worldmind of Spartax, rendering the planet without life support. Thus, he was branded a traitor with his wife Cilicia ruling in his stead as regent. Needing to redeem himself, he travel with fellow outcast of the Micronaut until he gave up his life essence to help with the rebirth of Homeworld. He was eventually seen again as Redeemer when he aided Scarlet Spider (Kaine) hunt down Carnage in the Mircoverse. He was revealed that he was the living embodiment of the Enigma Force for the Microverse, and his death would mean the destruction of the Micro and Macro verse.
