Ideal Wave – Retro Ghost Rider wave

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. A few months back when I did the Hulk Retro Ideal wave, I asked you whether you wanted me to make an Ideal wave for the Ghost Rider retro line. Honestly, I think if it wasn’t the fact that for the failure of the Engines of Vengeance Haslab, we would have gotten a wave by now. But given that it has taken a few years since they started doing the Iron Man retro line so I suspect that we will eventually get a Retro Ghost rider wave. As for why it took me 3 months to make this, it’s because….it was extremely hard to narrow down six characters for this. There were only two that were guaranteed for this wave, and even one of them I was flip-flopping on which version of them to include. I was even changing it up until I began writing this. Also, I know this is a Ghost “Rider”‘s wave but just assume they won’t have bikes.

Theme of the wave: Ghost Rider and horror

As for why I picked each (As always, know when I am talking about the build, I always mean it will have a new head):

  • Ghost Rider (Blaze, remake/ main character) – For the main character of this wave we have Johnny Blaze’s Ghost Rider. I know what you will say, didn’t we just get a retro style Ghost Rider and yes, we did. HOWEVER, I want them to remake it. They have been using the same figure for Johnny for years now. it’s time for him to get a new, shorter, pinless version (and this is coming from a person who doesn’t care if a figure has pins or not.) This will of course be a new sculpt.
  • Vengeance (Remake) – For the next character we have another person that was called Ghost Rider, Vengeance. We did get a figure during the Toybiz days, but I know that Hasbro can knock it out of the park with their version. I can’t think what base they can use for this.
  • Demon Rider (Kushala, new/female): Now time for the third Ghost Rider. Now I was going to include Alejandra Jones but I didn’t want to have 3 characters with flaming skull heads. So instead, I decided to go with another female Ghost Rider, but not just any female GR. She was also the Sorcerer Supreme of the 1800s. Kushala, also known as Demon Rider, is currently residing in the present days and is now a part of the latest Midnight Sons. This will us mostly use the Black Widow mold with new lower leg and arms as well as a new jacket and belt piece.
  • Elsa Bloodstone (Remake/re-release): For the next character, I wanted to include a character that was hard to get as well as an update. I picked Elsa Bloodstone because she has gotten a popularity surge since the WBN special. This will most be the same figure as the last one except it will have pinless arms and legs.
  • Scarecrow (New/Villain): Now onto one of the only two that was guaranteed to be in this wave (The first being some form of GR) and that is Scarecrow. No. Not that the Batman one, the Marvel one. This has been one of the few GR villains that continue to return to fight him, so he had to be included. This will use the Red Skull/Dormammu build with new forearms and boots. He should also include a pitchfork.
  • Blackout (Lilin): For the last character in this wave that was included in the original toyline as well as include one of the Lilin’s to go with Lilith that’s coming in the Blackheart wave. Out of the three in the original line (Skinner, Outcast and Blackout), Blackout was the obvious choice. Not only is he a vampire but he was Danny Ketch’s arch-nemesis for many years. This would use the Luke Cage build with new arms and Gambit’s jacket.

And that’s what I would want from a Retro style Ghost Rider wave. Let me know what you think of it in the poll below and be sure to tell me what you would have in a retro style wave.
