Firestar wasn’t the only character from the cartoon to make it’s way to the comics. Introduced in Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers #1 (2001) by Chris Eliopoulos and Ig Guara. this version of Ms. Lion is different from the cartoon version. For one thing, it is white instead of brown and another, it is male. In the Pet Avengers, Lockjaw found one of the Infinity Gem and decided to gather his own team to gather the rest. One of these was Aunt May’s pet dog, Ms. Lion. They travelled to the prehistoric pact and found one of the gems in Devil Dino’s nest. They returned to the present and battle Giganto to find another 2. They then travelled to the White House to find the last gem, only to find that Thanos was there searching for it. They battled the Mad Titan but Ms. Lion was killed. Hairball, Speedball’s cat, used the Soul Gem to revive the dog after they had defeated Thanos. The team would break up and then reunite when the Avengers were turned to frogs and had to battle Fin Fang Foom and his legion of Dragons.

Ms. Lion has actually been asked for for a while, usually as a pack-in with Firestar. Thus, he would receive a figure as a pack in with Firestar.

  • Background:
    • The breed of dog that Ms. Lion is has never been revealed. He is just a white shaggy dog with bows. 
  • Why you need it for your collection?:
    • With this we are closely near completing the Pet Avengers, so get it for that. Other then that, you can get him for his role in the cartoon but that version was brown instead of white.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
