He went from being the Punisher’s greatest supporter to one of his greatest foes. Introduced in Punisher (Vol. 2) #4 (1987) by Mike Baron and Klaus Janson, David Lieberman grew up with incredible computer skill, which he used as a hacker under the name Microchip. However, after one scam nearly got him killed, he retired. He fell in love with  Jan O’Reilly, who left him when his past caught up with him. She never told him she was pregnant but he would find out and keep watch over them from afar.

When his nephew was killed by the Kingpin, Mirco called out to Punisher to investigate the incident. The two would team up with Micro becoming Punisher’s one true ally, working behind the scene with his skills. He used his skills to launder money to fund Punisher’s war on crime. Micro would support Frank through out most of his career, with his son joining them soon enough. But he began to think Punisher was losing his mind and had him locked up. He replaced Frank with Carlos Cruz, while he tried to help Frank as best he could.

Frank obviously escaped and tried to kill Micro. One of his enemies attack their base and killed Micro. Micro would be resurrected by the Hood in order to take down the Punisher. Micro would agree is the Hood revived his nephew and Frank’s family but during the ritual, he shot G.W. Bridge stopping the ritual. Frank would hunt down Micro. However, Micro was captured by Jigsaw and taken to his mansion. Micro was tortured by Rampage before Punisher killed him.
