In a future that was rules by Mega-Corporations, even this Hulk was less of a monster than them. Introduced in 2099 Unlimited #1 (1993) by Gerard Jones and Dwayne Turner, eco-terrorists had set off the California fault lines, causing the western part of America to be separated from the rest of the continent. This cause corporation to become even more corrupt. To combat them, a cult known as the Knights of Banner who worshipped the Hulk, began trying to create their own Hulk. Their ways attracted the attention of movie studios and one particular studio, Lotusland Entertainment, sent their ruthless deal maker, John Eisenhart, to ask them to make a film of them. They turned him down but John tricked one of the cultist, Gawain, to reveal their secret. John reported about this but a troop of police officers. John tried to stop them but could only save Gawain. In the fight, an officer’s bullet hit the device that the Knights had created, bombard John in Gamma radiation, and transforming him into the Hulk of 2099.

John swore to protect Gawain with his life but a ruthless cyborg villain Draco began a bloody takeover of Lotusland, which resulted in Gawain. John as Hulk 2099, swore to stop these kinds of monsters, becoming the leader of a rebellion group. After Doom became president of America, John hide a gamma bomb from him. Doom wanted it and a massive battle occurred, resulting in the bomb going off and destroy LA. John was mutated further but soon stabilized. He was last seen fighting SHIELD and believed to have perished.
