He may not have any powers in this universe, but he still kicks ass. Introduced in Daredevil Noir #1 (2009) by Alexander Irvine and Tomm Coker, this version of Matt Murdock was still the son of Jack Murdock, a boxer, but this time he grew up in the 1920/30s of America. He would lose his sight not from radiation but when he tried to stop his father from being killed from Orville Halloran. Halloran smashed Matt’s face into a wall, leaving him blind and orphaned. He grew up in an orphanage, where he would train his body, performing athletic shows for the other children earning the nickname Daredevil. Fifteen years later, he was taken in by Foggy Nelson, a older private detective that new of Matt’s abilities and his reason for fighting.

Orville was eventually released from prison and had become the Kingpin of speakeasies and liquor during the Prohibition, a period of America where alcohol was illegal. He hired Eliza, the Bullseye Killer (and a combination of Elektra and Bullseye) as his assassin to kill anyone that got in his way. However, she would also get close to Matt becoming his lover. However, Wilson Fisk manipulated Matt’s belief that Orville had killed his father and sent him after his rival. Matt would fight Eliza, who would kill Orville and reveal she was working for Fisk. He defeated her and had her arrested before confronting Fisk. They fought and Fisk was killed in the combat.

Possible Figures

  • Which has the best chance of being made? – DD Noir has only worn one costume during his short mini-series which is a combination of his classic red suit with his first appearance suit.
  • How can it be made? – This is another easy one as all they need to do is repaint the Secret Wars DD with a new head and additional parts. However, I don’t see this being made soon. The only successful Noir character was, of course, Spider-man. However, this all depends on the success or failure of the Amazon series coming soon. We may get some Noir characters after that. This could be slotted into a Marvel Knights or Spider-man wave. it could also be an exclusive to someplace, as a single figure OR a 2/3/4 box set. Maybe a Noir Box set?
