Foggy’s descendants keeps his friend’s legacy alive. Introduced in 2099 A.D. Genesis #1 (1995) by Warren Ellis and Dale Eaglesham, Eric Nelson was the son of get-rich-fast schemer that nearly ruined their family’s fortune until his mother took him and left his father. She remarried and raised him to never become like his father. She remarried and he became a corporate lawyer. He became successful and was eventually engaged to an Alchemax’s executive’s daughter. One day, Dr. Gunderson, an old friend of his father, came into his office with his latest invention, a device that would enhance people’s sense. Alchemax had heard of this invention from a mole in the Patent Office and wanted it…. one way or the other. Gunderson wanted Eric to take his case against Alchemax but Eric advised him to take the offer Alchemax gave him but Gunderson refused and said, “Thanks a million, daredevil”, leaving the office in a huff.

The next day, Eric heard of Gunderson’s sudden suicide and received a package. There was nothing in it but a note from Gunderson, mocking Eric and claiming he will know what it was like to have his life turned upside down. Eric cut his finger on the box and hearing Alchemax goons hovering near. He realised that Gunderson’s invention at worked and enhanced his sense. He escaped the goons and went to downtown where he meet to Carol Takagawa, who informed him what the device was nanomites. After training in downtown and with the aid of Maverick Underground, Eric took the mantle of Daredevil and brought Gunderson’s killer’s to justice, bringing his life back to normal. But he began using this life to help people secretly as Daredevil of 2099.
