MLR 63 – Nadia Van Dyne

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. Today we have another character that I’m surprised hasn’t been made yet given the 3 Ant-man wave, the Giant-man Haslab and various other things. It was also a character introduced into the comics because of a character in the MCU, Hope Van Dyne. While that character was partially based on the MC2 universe version of the character, Marvel wanted to introduce a version into the Prime universe of the character. So they came up with a new version of the character, with this being Hank’s daughter but from his first wife that died at the beginning of his career and was kidnapped by the Soviets while pregnant with their child, unbeknownst to Hank. Years later, she was introduced as Wasp (Nadia Van Dyne). (Nadia is Russian for Hope). But unlike some characters, she didn’t replace Janet. Instead, Janet became her adopted mother and mentored her as they shared the codename of Wasp. Think of it more like Miles and Peter now.
