Best of 24 Winners – Assortment, Packaging, BAF and Deluxe

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. The results of the first part of our Annual Best of Marvel Legends are here! As always, I would like to thank all who took the time to vote. I know some of these were hard to decide, especially going by the way the numbers went over the few days. But enough about that. Here are the winners of the first part of this year’s Best of Marvel Legends.

Best Wave Assortment

Winner with 25.00%: Strange Tales Blackheart Wave

This one was really close. So close, I had to use my tie-breaking privilege to declare a winner. But with 25% of the vote we have the Strange Tales Blackheart wave. This wave was amazing. Obscure characters, remakes that trump others and an amazing BAF. Taking second place, we have the X-men ’97 with 23.21%, followed by The Zabu wave with 14.29%. Next with a tie (10.71%) was the Secret Wars wave and the Iron Man retro wave. Bringing up the rear with 5.36%, we have the Spider-verse wave 3, Spider-man retro wave and The Void wave.

Best Packaging Art

Winner with 34.04%: The New Standard Packaging

You know what they say. Sometimes simple is best. The winner of this year’s best packaging is the new standard Packaging that Hasbro has begun to release throughout all their lines. Just to remind people this includes the Wolverine 50th anniversary, The Strange Tales wave, The 85th line, Deadpool and Wolverine, Various deluxe (ie the Phoenix set) and the 2-packs (Punisher and Bushwacker). With 27.66%, second place goes to both the Secret War retro packaging and the Death’s Head SDCC packaging. Third place with 4.26%, goes to the Modern Spider-man retro card AND the Inhumans 2-pack. Kang is next with a single vote while the MCU re-release got no vote.

Best Build-A-Figure

Winner with 44.44%: Blackheart

I’m going to be honest. I think this was the hardest choice people had. We only had 3 BAFs this year but my god were they all incredible. But there has to be a winner and that is Blackheart. He wasn’t without competition because in second place with 31.11% was Ka-Zar’s pet, Zabu with the Void coming in Third with 24.44%. Blackheart will move onto the Overall finals.

Best Deluxe

Winner with 28.57%: Dan Ketch’s Ghost Rider with Hellcycle

The deluxes this year were on fire (pun intended) but the winner of the best Deluxe and the second finalist for the Overall Best of 24, we have the remake of Dan Ketch’s Ghost Rider. In second place with 17.86% with have the Phoenix set with Angel coming in third with 14.29%. Odin was next followed by Venompool, then LTBC Carnage tied with Hulkbuster Iron man, then MCU Man-thing tied with Kang and his chair, then Sam Wilson Cap and Skaar. Poor DP 2 Colossus got no votes.

And that is the first set of winners of the Best of 24. Congrats to Blackheart and Dan Ketch as the move onto the finals. The next part, the Exclusives and Multipack, will be up later today.
