Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. This week, we will see the long-awaited sequel to the series I think many Marvel fans of the 90’s considered their jumping on point into the House of Idea comics, X-men: The Animated Series, with the X-men ’97 series. Thus, as I do with each launch of a series or movie, I planned out what an Ideal wave for this series. Now, even though I am using the series to make this wave, this is entirely comic based. I will be using characters from the series, but they will be in some version of the comic costumes.

The Theme for this wave: MC2 universe

As for why I picked each of these (If you are wondering why I haven’t included some version of Morph/Changling, I just couldn’t fit him in):

• Generation X Jubilee – We start off with one of four of the main cast that didn’t get a figure in the 97 line yet, that being Jubilee. For her, I thought it would be nice to continue another team with Generation X. This will use the same body that Jubilee has been using with new lower legs and forearms.
• X-men Team New Mutants Sunspot – Next up we have the newest member of the X-men 97 team, Sunspot. For this I of course thought he needed to be in his New Mutants costume. However, instead of the classic version, I picked the version that Walgreen’s Dani Moonstar is based on. This would use the Vulcan body with new parts. He should come with a powered and, like the image above shows, a semi-powered head.
• X-factor Beast- For the last member of this wave that didn’t get a 97 figure, Beast get his X-factor costume to go with the X-Factor Cyclops. Yes, I know when Cyclops was in the blue and white version, Beast was in the brown and yellow version but honestly, I find that costume ugly. This will need to be a new build.
• Hope Summer: Now for something NOT in the series (That we know of) and the major remake I want, I picked the Mutant Messiah, Hope Summers. This is one of the only figures from the Terrax wave that hasn’t gotten a remake yet or re-release yet (Minus Reborn Thor and Dan Ketch Ghost Rider) so slotting her into this seem like a great idea. This will use the Black Widow mold with new molded parts.
• Brown and Tan Wolverine: Next we have the Wolverine of the wave, and something I’m surprised people are asking for again, the brown and tan Wolverine. Even though we have gotten 2 versions of this There seems to be a call for Hasbro to make this version again on the 97 mold. (Which honestly is just the older 2 without pins.)
• Harpoon: Next up we have another character that has gotten a huge boast of people asking for because of a) The Vertigo figure and B) the Angel figure. This is one of 2 Marauders for this wave. This will use the Cap Wolf mold with a new strap that is attached to his quiver.
• Proteus: Now onto character I believe we wouldn’t get because he never really had a proper ‘body’, Moira Mactaggart’s son, Kevin, Proteus. Thanks to the Krakoa period, he recieve a proper form. This will use either the Pizza Spidey mold OR the Amazing Fantasy mold, with translutant pink plastic.
• BAF: Blockbuster: For the BAF, I thought since I picked Harpoon, I would continue the Marauders theme with another member, that being Blockbuster. I think the Juggernaut build would be great for this character, just remove the belt and bands.
