Ideal Wave – The Marvels wave

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. This week we are seeing the release of the latest movie in the MCU, The Marvels, which see Carol Danvers team up with Monica Rambeau from WandaVision and Kamala Kahn from Ms. Marvel. However, if you are a comic fan you know these character have a long history, either together or solo. Since this is techinically Captain Marvel 2, I tried to not include characters or version of existing charaters from that wave, not including the 3 main characters, obviously. Also, I was going to include a Kree Soldier in this wave but then I thought that would work better as a Hasbro Pulse Army Builder 2-pack with a re-release Kree Sentry BAF.

As always here are the rules for this wave:

6-8 figures per wave. No more. No less.
Some version of the Title hero most be in it (Carol Danvers, Monica Rambaeu, Kamala Khan)
1 or 2 Female per wave.
1 or 2 Villains per wave, but these could be female as well.
1 or 2 brand new character that has never been done before
1 or 2 remakes. The Remakes can also be new costumes as Like Classic Spider-man or Iron Spider.
Each wave most have a Theme ie Spider-man can include Street Level heroes or Iron Man can include Tech Heroes and villains.

As for why I picked each. (Please Note that I won’t be mentioning new head because that is obvious.):

Captain Marvel – Starting with Carol and while I could have pick her classic black suit version (did the first costume version in the previous wave), I decided to give the 3 main character a more modern version. For Carol, I decided to include a remake of her now iconic red and blue Captain Marvel suit. This would use the Moonstone (from the Walgreen set) body with new gloves.
Photon – For Monica, since we got her iconic Captain Marvel set recently, I thought we would go with her most modern costume where she returned to the Photon codename. This would use Shriek body mold.
Ms. Marvel – For Kamala, I pick her iconic classic look. Yes I know this has been released several times already but for this, I wanted a complete remake of the figure that will not only be pinless will allow Kamala to switch out her arms and legs. As such this would be a whole new sculpt and won’t come with a BAF piece.
Hulking – For the next figure, I wanted to include a couple of Kree figure but I also wanted to have a Skrull character. So why not both? So I picked Hulkling, or rather in this case Emperor Dorrek-Vell, which is a version alot of people want for Teddy. This would use the modern Hercules build with a new removable cape and yes a sword. (Don’t worry I have a place in a future planned for his husband.)
Captain Glory – I mention above that I was going to include a Kree Soldier in the wave but decided against it. Instead I decided to include a member of the cosmic Lethal Legion and Kree Army, Captain Glory. I think the Spider-Uk body would be fine for this character with an altered chest.
Black Bolt – Since Kamala is Inhuman (and now a mutant), I decided to include a member of the Royal Family in this wave but instead of including someone we are missing, I thought it would be a better idea to include a remake the ruler, Black Bolt. This would be made using the Vulcan body WITH CLOTHES WINGS.
B’nee – You saw the BAF is Warstar but as many know, this is made up of 2 individuals, B’Nee and C’Cil. Because of this and since it would be a construction nightmare, I thought it would make more sense to have the smaller guy be part of the wave as a regular figure. This would be a whole new sculpt.
BAF: C’Cil – As for the BAF, I wanted to add another member of the Shi’Ar Imperial Guard and one of the ones that is constantly being requested is Warstar. This figure could easily be made with the Mandroid build with a new upper torso that will allow B’Nee to grab onto.
