Ideal Wave – Secret Invasion Wave

Hey, my fellow Plastic Addicts. This Wednesday is the long-awaited release of the new Secret Invasion TV series and like I like to do with all Marvel releases, I have designed Marvel Legends wave based around the series. Since this is, in all but name, Nick Fury’s own series, I have decided to base it around SHIELD with a couple of Skrulls thrown in.

As always here were the rules:

6-8 figures per wave. No more. No less.
Some version of the Title hero must be in it (Nick Fury in this case)
1 or 2 Female per wave.
1 or 2 Villains per wave, but these could be female as well.
1 or 2 brand new character that has never been done before
1 or 2 remakes. The Remakes can also be new costumes as Like Classic Spider-man or Iron Spider.
Each wave most have a Theme ie Spider-man can include Street Level heroes or Iron Man can include Tech Heroes and villains.

The Theme for this wave: SHIELD

As for why I picked each:

Nick Fury: Starting off, we have the main character of the series Nick Fury and since it’s Sam Jackson in the role of Nick, I decided to make this Nick Fury Jr. Version. This would use the Winter Soldier mold with a new upper torso and the jacket from Gambit.
Talos: For the next figure we look at the other stars of the series, the Skrulls. For one of 2 Skrull in this wave, I have picked of course Talos, since we haven’t gotten him in comic form yet and he has been in several Marvel movies/tv series now. This would use the Hercule mold with new parts.
Contessa Valentina Allegra de la Fontaine: Don’t call her Val. She has been cameoing in several so it’s time we got Nick Fury’s love interest in the comics. This would use the female SHIELD body (the Quake build).
Abigial Brand: The show will feature SWORD and, in the comic, SWORD wouldn’t exist without the green-haired director, Abigial Brand. This would use the SHRIEK build with new lower legs and new shoulder pads.
Replica: For the next character and the second Skrull of the wave, I thought it would be nice to not only get another member of the reptile aliens, but also another member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The 3000 version, not the prime ones. Replica would use the standard teenage build with added parts on the knee and elbows.
Scorpio: Now onto some villains starting with Nick’s brother, Jake Fury aka Scorpio. I put a member of the Zodiac in another wave, so I wanted to include Scorpio in this wave because of his connection to Nick. This will use mainly the High Evolutionary build with a good amount resculpt.
Graviton: Finally, we have a character many people have wanted for years, Graviton, the master of gravity. There is no real reason why I included this but he was the first villain of the Avengers cartoon so I thought it would be nice to have him here as well. This would use the Spider-Uk build.
Anaconda: For the BAF, I went back to the good old Serpent Society and saw what character we needed in figure form. I settled on Anaconda as she would require a whole new sculpt to make and would need to come with swappable arms that are made out of bendable wires.
