Nighthawk (Kyle Richmond, Marvel Prime)

AKA; Nighty, “Bird-nose”, Leader-Man, Birdie, Feather Face

Moon Knight is Marvel’s Batman? Hell No! This guy is. Introduced in Avengers #69 (1969) by Roy Thomas and Sal Buscema, Kyle Richmond was once a troubled rich lad that would get into constant trouble. The Grand Master, inspired by an alternate reality’s Squadron Supreme team, manipulated him into becoming Nighthawk and having him join the Squadron Sinister, pitting them against the Avengers and Kang. After being defeat, Nighthawk went solo but soon rejoined the team. When he found out that Nebulon wanted to melt the polar icecaps, he left the team and tried to get the Avengers to help but, since they weren’t available. he went to the Defenders for help. Defeating Nebulon, the Defenders saved Nighthawk’s life. This cause Nighthawk to change his way and join the Defenders, becoming one of their core members.

Nighthawk eventually became the team leader after Dr. Strange left. He eventually left the team (and returned) and was soon believed killed but was instead in a coma. He got better and found what he believed was an amnesiac Valkyrie. Around this time, the Defenders were reunited and tried to work to keep the team together. When the 4 core members became corrupted as the Order, he gather a team of female counterparts to try and defeat them. After an adventure with the Thing and Constrictor, he was forced to rejoin the Squadron Sinister and had to battle Thunderbolts. After the fight, Nighthawk joined the T-bolts. During the Civil War, he joined Cap’s side but left after the death of Bill Foster. He then set-up them a new team of Defenders. During Fear Itself, he set up a new team called the Fearsome Four to stop a rampaging Man-Thing.

Out of all the Squadron Supreme character, Nighthawk has been the only one that people have been asking for because of his role in the Defenders. Hasbro will release him in the first wave of Avengers: End Game Legends.

Classic / Defenders

Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Avengers: End Game Wave 1 Nighthawk

  • Background:
    • Right after joining the Defenders, Nighthawk ditched the old Squadron costume and updated it into this classic version.
  •  Why you need it for your collection?:
    • With this figure we now have 3 of the Squadron Sinister / Supreme core members, alongside Hyperion and Speed Demon. However, for this figure I recommend getting it for your core Defenders members which we now have them all. It would also work as part of an Avengers rogues or allies collection.
  • Does it need a remake?:
    • No.
