In the Kree Empire, there is a corps of soldiers known as the Accuser, who acted as a police force with power close to those of judges. The greatest of these is Ronan. Introduced in Fantastic Four #65 (1967) by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Ronan first came to Earth to put the Human Torch on trail for destroying one of the Kree’s Sentries. He then became a frequent foes of the first Captain Marvel (Mar-Vell). After constant defeats, he led a coup against the Supreme Intelligence and led the Kree in the Kree/Skrull War, which saw the two race battle each other for control of Earth but were both defeated when Rick Jones activated his latent powers. Ronan would be controlled mentally by the Supreme Intelligence until he was allowed to return to his position as Supreme Accuser.
He fought in the Kree/Shi’Ar War and even attempted to assassinate Lilandra. He then tried to force the Inhumans, who were initially created by the Kree a millennia ago, into serving the Kree. He was later made the “Warden” of Earth after it was made into a prison planet by a council of space empires, which was a trick by the Kree who were going under the RUUL name. He was later frame for treason by House Fiyero and sought a witness against the charge only for the witness to be killed by the Annihilation Wave. This eventually led him to join the United Force, leading him to gain respect, even kinship, with Nova (Richards) and even teamed up with Super-Skrull to overthrow the House Fiyero, who had lobotomized the Supreme Intelligence, which led Ronan to become the Emperor. He led the Kree empire in aiding the United Front against the Annihilation Wave.
He was later assimilated by the Phalanx but was freed by the Wraith and freed Hala again. He then teamed up with other heroes to take down Ultron. During the Secret Invasion, when the Inhuman came to Hala to seek an alliance, Ronan agreed to it but only if they allow him to marry Crystal, who he generally cared about. They help rescue Black Bolt and allowed him to become Emperor during the War of Kings. He eventually joined the Annihilators but had to separate from Crystal, which sadden them both. He was eventually given a cosmic upgrade by the Black Vortex but this eventually led to the destruction of Hala by Mister Knife. Ronan blamed himself for this but with the help of Crystal, her Inhuman teammates and Noh-Varr, he gained a new leader from Noh-Varr’s reality and has since started trying to rebuild the Kree race.
Like many of the Cosmic character before the Annihilation storyline, Ronan wasn’t really some one many people ask for, but did appear on quite a few list (usually as a BAF). Hasbro did release a figure in their one and so far only Fantastic Four wave, as the BAF, based on the Annihilation version.
Recommend Figure: Hasbro Marvel Legends Fantastic Four Ronan The Accuser wave Ronan the Accuser (BAF)
- This outfit comes from the Annihilation story line, where Annihilus invaded the Marvel Prime. Ronan was accused of treason and had to give up his hammer, which he got back.
- Why you need it for your collection?:
- This was made near the end of the Dark Days of Marvel legends when Hasbro took over. The wave is actually very hard to find nowadays. I say only get this if you need a Ronan in your collection for your cosmic display, Annihilator members, GOTG display and various villains display but it will cost quite a penny.
- Does it need a remake?:
- No. Yes we need a new Ronan but something different like the classic.
Below is a gallery of costumes that still need to be made. Click on the image to see chances of it being made. Please note that this is my personal opinion and not fact. If I missed anything, please let me know in the comments below.
